Adopt a Pet!

These may be seconds, but they
are not irregulars.  Save a life & adopt an animal at PAWS

Volunteers are essential to the well being of animals at PAWS. PAWS depends on volunteers to contribute their time, energy, & ideas to make PAWS a better place for animals. Volunteers are a tremendous source of PEOPLE POWER! Volunteers enrich programs at PAWS with their ability & willingness to get things done. By working as a team with other people at PAWS, volunteers meet the needs of more animals.

We want your input and your expertise. You can volunteer at the shelter, or do other things—work on our web site, help with fundraising and special events, serve on a committee, or work at the Junkyard Dog Gift n' Thrift Shop. Whatever skill you have—we have a use for you!

Volunteers help shape a better future for animals & people!
So…Why Volunteer?
There are many benefits to volunteering. For many people, volunteer service is a special source of personal growth & satisfaction. Some of the special rewards of volunteering include:

  • Developing creativity & expertise in areas of personal interest
  • Making new friends & not just the four-legged kind, you will be working side by side with people who share similar interests
  • Exploring new careers
  • Making a difference in the lives of animals at PAWS
  • Learning new skills
  • What you learn while volunteering at PAWS can be used as part of your work history
  • BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY – You will never find a more grateful & accepting comrade than an animal you have comforted!

What Can You Do At PAWS?
The type of work you do depends on YOUR interests, skills, goals, & how much time you have to invest at PAWS. Volunteer opportunities are unlimited. As a volunteer you can:

  • Exercise dogs
  • Collect towels & blankets for animals
  • Cut & sew blankets
  • Work at the thrift shop
  • Collect aluminum cans & recycle them for cash
  • Exercise dogs
  • Bathe the puppies and kittens
  • Groom the animals
  • Become an adult mentor or supervisor for Junior Volunteers
  • Help plan fundraisers
  • Become a member of an advisory committee
  • And…if you just can’t decide what you would like to do, come on in anyway and we’ll find something you will enjoy being a part of!
