How Grades are Given

At a cat show, the examiner gives a grade to the animal after it has been inspected. This is necessary not only for the owner to be proud of his pet, but also for breeding the breed.

Breeding work is only available with animals that have at least one CAC rating (Candidate of Beauty Champion) and “excellent” rating.

In order for a cat to become a champion, it must get at least 3 ratings of excellent from different experts. At one show a cat can be rated only 2 in one category. So, if a cat gets 2 excellent marks at an event, it has to earn a high mark at another show to get the title.

As there are at least two ratings at a show, one of them has to be CAC (Candidate to International Champion in Beauty), the other one – CACIB (Candidate to International Champion in Beauty). For the second time, it is possible to qualify for three CAC grades, but to get the rank of CACIB, you need three ratings, it is necessary to participate in another show.

Competing cats can then participate with their kittens. This is also one of the proven ways to find buyers for an animal’s offspring, because access to the event is open and there are a lot of regular people there.
